On August 4, 1860, Margaret Billings married Andrew T. Foot in Allegan, Michigan - she was 17 and he was 32 years old.  In 1862, Andrew enlisted with his brother-in-law, Hiram Hudson. Two months later he was wounded.  He died 3 months after that in February 1863. Surviving him was his 19-year-old widow and 2 small daughters. 

Four years later, Margaret re-married to James Hendryx – both being 23 years of age. 

Ten children were born to this union. By 1880, the family moved to Nebraska where they remained the rest of their lives.
