Walter was born in 1862 and was 2 years old when his father enlisted in the Civil War. Walter Jr. was 19 years of age when he married 17 year old Katie A. Goodrich on December 21, 1881 in Saugatuck, Allegan, Michigan. Two children were born to this union.  

Walter died of tuberculosis at the home of his sister, Eva A. Gray. It was in July of 1903, just 5 months beforethe death of Eva’s husband, Freeland Gray. 

Katie Billings passed away on October 30, 1938 in South Haven, Van Buren, Michigan.
