George Washington Livingston was born on June 19, 1810, in Smithfield, Ohio, to William A. and Jane (McCance) Livingston.

 

He married Nancy Manson on February 11, 1836 in Jefferson County, Ohio. They had two children together.

 

He then married Sarah Long on April 25, 1844 in Tyler, West Virginia. They had six children together.

 

George died on March 5, 1881, in Tyler, West Virginia, at the age of 70, and was buried there.

George never claimed his Civil War medal and it was stored in the West VA State Archives until I was able to prove my direct-line lineage to claim it on his behalf. I will always treasure it.
