Green B Buckler was born about 1840 in Kentucky to William G and Elizabeth (Goodrum) Buckler.
On February 4, 1864, at the age of 24, Green B Buckler enlisted in Company E, 66th Illinois Infantry. He mustered in on March 3, 1864 at Joliet, Illinois, and mustered out on July 7, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky with his younger brother, William M Buckler. Their father, William G Buckler, also served in the American Civil War.
On February 14, 1867, Green, aged 27, married 18-year-old Elizabeth A. Buckler at Edgar, Illinois.
Green B Buckler died on February 5, 1886 at the age of 46 years.
On April 9, 1886, Elizabeth filed for and was granted a widow's pension for her husband's service in the Civil War.
Then, in 1887, Elizabeth married James W Walls and, on February 7, 1888, she added a minor, Elizabeth A Walls, to her pension application.
